Sweet Baby James Arrived!!!!
So this is where I have been the passed 6 weeks :) He arrived a little over a week early, and life couldn't seem more complete! He decided to enter the world early and quickly--my water broke at 2:20 am, we arrived at the hospital at 4:15, and he arrived at 6:24!! It has been a whirl wind to say the least!! So much to go over right now, but mainly adjusting to two children has been huge! While Little K is an awesome big sister, she has had a rough time adjusting to sharing me, and getting used to our new family dynamics. It seems like we are over the hump, but I do realize that we will have more adjustments as Baby James grows and requires more attention. So as we figure out how to make the two children happy, then there leaves little time to take care of ourselves. Which I'm on a mission to change. Hence, writing this blog post. I love writing and sharing what is going on in our lives. It gives me a chance to connect to others and relate with so many other moms out there!! Thank you for all of your support!!!
Dare I say it, but although two children is more difficult than I thought, it seems like our marriage has had an easier time adjusting to two than to one child! For me and all we went through before having Little K, I tended to "hog" her and keep her to myself. Now that there are two, it seems we both have found our place and role in the family, if that makes any sense. It's a strange sense of feeling complete as a family, and knowing that this is where we should be. All seems right in the world :)
He is sleeping pretty well, waking up 2 times a night to nurse, and as long as Little K sleeps in passed 6, I can function pretty well with this. I still look at James and can't believe that I have a boy. I'm so excited to get to know him and learn his personality and likes and dislikes. The hardest part for me has been worrying about Little K and praying that she still knows how much I truly love her. I think I cried more than she did the first couple of weeks! I'm starting to figure out how to please them both and to spread my love as much as I can. I have had little glimpses of them connecting and it excites me so much to see their relationship grow together. If you follow me on social media, you have seen my updates of these passed couple of weeks.
I'm so excited to start this new chapter in our lives, and am getting back to blogging and sharing tidbits on how I'm getting through motherhood of 2, being a wife, taking care of myself physically and mentally, working from home, and having fun. My posts will most likely be shorter and more often from now on, as time is limited these days! First on the agenda is working on getting my pre-pregnancy body back! Fitting in the time to workout and prep healthy meals is definitely going to be a challenge with two little ones, but I'm not going to let that stop me. I refuse to let myself go, and I am pushing myself to be a role model for both of my kiddos that it is so important to take care of our health. I hope you all continue to follow this journey and would love for you all to join me and share your tips and tricks on the way!! I'm looking forward to seeing all of the excitement that 2016 has to bring!!
