The Diet that I'm currently following
I’m SO excited to share this with you. I know if you follow me, you have tried it all, and it works for a while, but then it always seems to either back lash or the weight comes back on and then some. I’ve finally found something that has worked and I know will work for you.
Sounds kind of crazy right??
But here it is.
I eat what makes me feel good. I eat the portion sizes that don’t leave me hungry or full. I don’t deprive myself of any foods (minus gluten-because I get extremely sick to my stomach from that). I have learned that I can have a little bit of dairy but I know now that I cannot have it every day. I have alcohol but try to limit it to special occasions. I have chocolate when I want it. I eat chips. And I go out to dinner at least once a week.
Does that sound do-able?
Or are you thinking like I used to, yeah, nice for you, but I would blow up like a tick? or I can’t stop myself once I stop?
You see when I say diet, I don’t mean restrictions. That is not what diet means to me. Diet means what you are eating daily. I no longer “go on a diet.” I recognize when I need to reign it in and stop eating the extra junk that snuck back in. I do this by constantly checking in.
It’s about doing body scans, paying attention to the way you feel, and making adjustments accordingly.
I’m not going to tell you that you can eat all the chips, drink all the wine you want, and eat as much chocolate as you want. Well if that was the case, we would all be feeling and looking quite fabulous.
But here’s the truth: everyone has a different threshold. We can all tolerate different portion sizes and different foods. What I’m doing will probably not work for you, and certainly the girl’s plan that you are following on instagram that posts 6 pack abs is not going to work for you either.
Yes these plans might work for a portion of time, but if it’s too extreme it won’t work forever. There is so much more that contributes to your body weight than just food and exercise.
I could post these pictures of myself competing all over social media to “sell” you the fact that I can get you into shape, but the truth is, I was the most unhealthy in these pictures. I also only looked that way for a few days. Please realize that with competitors—what they are doing is not something that everyone has to do to look healthy—especially if you have a history of any type of disordered eating.
I used to coach fitness competitors and stopped a few years ago because it is so scary how badly this sport can affect woman’s bodies. Now it doesn’t affect everyone’s body that way but I have far too many friends that have been struggling with hormone and body issues from competing.
I am creating a space to help you realize that you have the best tool you need, and I want to help you get more in tune with this. As I finish up my health coach certification, I want to share this knowledge and help save you years of trial and error and give you the support to feel your best and look your best. I am currently creating a food, exercise, and mindset course that helps you work more with your body than against it. We have the tools all ready, we’ve just been trained to stop listening.
I’m so excited for this and to get to know you on a personal level.
Sending so much love!!!
